What a breath of fresh air! Squarespace is a self-contained platform that creates beautiful websites that are easy for you to edit/manage, update and monitor. Page content is block based and you can add multiple types of content blocks depending on your needs and account type (premium blocks, ecommerce, etc). You can even publish blog posts from your mobile phone!
Squarespace is fully managed so there are no software or security updates, no plugins/extensions/widgets or anything else that might break something else. You'll save so much time going down the rabbit hole of finding plugins/extensions.
All Squarespace templates are gorgeous and responsive (meaning they look great on mobile devices as well as large monitors).

After working with Joomla for over a decade, then "learning" WordPress, I don't know why anyone would use them if Squarespace has what they need. And I'm not alone. Loads of people are leaving WordPress for Squarespace. They are tired of the convoluted website nightmare and they love Squarespace.
My experience building websites will help you get up and running QUICKLY on Squarespace. If you have your content ready, we can probably build you a website in Squarespace in just a couple of days. DAYS! This saves you time where you can be running your business instead of dealing with a website. Building websites can be overwhelming. Since I've been building websites for over a decade, I have a system so that we'll do it together in a way that isn't overwhelming. We'll take it step by step. I'll break it down so you know what needs to happen and in what order. You'll always know what your priorities are and when they need to be done.
Working with Jenn over these past few weeks on our new site has been a real pleasure. She is on top of her game and really cares about the end product and the success of her clients. Her enthusiasm and mindfulness makes the creative process enjoyable and fun. It has been less than a week since our new site went live and I’ve already received a very nice compliment from a potential client interested in using our services saying, “she was very impressed with our website”. So big thanks to Jenn for all her help in taking our business’s appearance on the web to the next level. - Dave Hansmann
Step 1: Discuss website needs
We talk about your business needs/goals and layout a navigation menu and what each page will do. We'll also draw out the home page design.
Step 2: Quote, contract, invoice
I'll provide you with a quote. If you go with it, a contract and invoice for the first payment are sent out.
Step 3: Start building and gather content and images
Once signed contract and payment are received, I'll start. You'll send me all your content.
Step 4: Training
You'll send a progress payment when I'm the majority of the way complete with your site. I'll do some personalised training with you.
Step 5: Go live
We'll finish and go live. Final payment is due.
Is there a little more to it? Maybe, it depends on what your needs are. Email may be a part of it. Acuity Scheduling might be a part of it. I do not do online stores so that won't be a part of it.
Who is Squarespace great for?
- Businesses just starting out; consultants, dance instructors, coaches, health care, photographers, contractors, bloggers and more
Jennifer at Snapdragon was exceptional. She is friendly, knowledgeable and cares about perfection! Her work was impeccable. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to come along and build my website for me! She listened to my needs. I not only have an awesome website for my new business I made a new friend! She’s an overall special person and I give her 5 stars! Highly recommended! - Dee Blaylock
What's the cost?
Squarespace itself costs $16/mo and up depending on the account type and your needs. Check out Squarespace Pricing. You'll want a domain name (definitely read why you should buy your own domain name). You may need to pay for email services. My costs depend on what we'll be building for you. It's reasonable. Let's talk about it.
My clients love me. They stay with me for years and years and utilise me when they need me. I'm here for you and I can't wait to see your business rock it with a Squarespace website as part of your business plan. See testimonials.
I love Squarespace. It's beautiful, safe, economical, and easy for you to update. Contact me so we can talk about if Squarespace is right for you.
If you just don't have time to add or edit content on your existing Squarespace site, I'm happy to help out. If there is a new feature or integration you'd like to implement, let's do it! I am especially fond of Acuity Scheduler integration and everything that goes along with it. Excellent tools to help you with your business. And I can take the reigns on it so that you can keep doing the important work of growing your business while I keep the tech supporting you and moving your forward. Mailing list integration? Sure!
If you'd like a redesign, let's talk about what that looks like. Sometimes you just need a revamp. Contact me and let's talk about your needs and business goals today!
While Squarespace has absolutely amazing documentation on their support site and the ability to contact support, sometimes it's nice to have someone walk you through on your own website and teach you what you want to learn and not what you don't. I would love to do that with you. Training is one of my favourite things to do! We can record the session so that you have a video of it for future use. I know how it is if you don't work in your site everyday. It's easy to forget how to do something. With all my website builds, I include some training so you'll have the details specific to your website design.
Sometimes you outgrow Squarespace. If this is you, congratulations! Squarespace has the ability to export in XML so we can grab your data and move it into Joomla or WordPress. (Those are the only migrations I handle though Squarespace will migrate to other platforms as well.)
Alternatively, maybe you have a WordPress or Joomla website that you can't afford to maintain and they're just overkill for what you need. We can migrate you from WordPress or Joomla into Squarespace.
In my B-School group, there are hundreds of people that started building their websites in WordPress and after months or years of trying to make it work, switched to Squarespace and just love it. One said to me "out with the convoluted and in with clarity." That about sums it up.
